§ Mr. Adam ButlerCentral responsibility for expenditure on alternative—that is non-fossil as well as non-nuclear—energy sources lies with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy. However, Northern Ireland Departments have provided additional support for work which is considered to have particular relevance to the Province. Expenditure in the financial year 1980–81 was £50,000, and in 1981–82 £60,000, with an estimated £143,000 during 1982–83.
