HC Deb 09 March 1983 vol 38 cc448-51W
Mr. Lambie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in the Official Report an analysis by sub-programme of the amounts which have been included in the 1983–84, 1984–85 and 1985–86 plans for programme 15 (Scotland) in Cmnd. 8789 to allow for the repayment of services hitherto rendered free of user charge by (a) the Property Services Agency, (b) Her Majesty's Stationery Office, (c)the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency and (d) other.

Mr. Younger

The only services hitherto rendered free for which provisions was first made in Cmnd. 8789 are certain property services, for which the provision is as follows, and central training costs, for which the additional provision in each year is less than £0.1 million total.

Provision for allied services at one time rendered free by Her Majesty's stationery office and the central computer and telecommunications agency was initially made in earlier public expenditure White Papers. These services now form an integral part of expenditure on the various elements of the Scotland programme and provision for them is not separately identifiable in Cmnd. 8789.

1982, distinguishing (a) 1982 Budget changes, (b) classification changes, (c) the different treatment of agriculture; and (d) other.

Mr. Younger

I gave the House a fuller and updated account of the autumn statement 1982 in my statement on public expenditure in Scotland of 15 December 1982.—[Vol. 34, c. 287–98.] The following is the information requested in relation to those later figures:

Mr. Younger

I gave the House a fuller and updated account of the autumn statement 1982 in my statement on public expenditure in Scotland of 15 December 1982—[Vol. 34, c. 287–98]—which includes an analysis by sub-programme within programme 15 (Scotland). The only difference between that statement and the analysis of the plans for the programme given in Cmnd. 8789 is that the latter figure shows an increase of £4 million for law, order and protective services, being a classification change.

Mr. Lambie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in the Official Report an analysis by sub-programme within programme 15 (Scotland) of the differences between the Cmnd. 8494 plans for 1983–84, as amended, given in c. 2 of table 2.1 of the autumn
