§ 21. Mr. Aitkenasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has received any representations from the Spanish Government concerning the future of the Crown colony of Gibraltar; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PymNo such representations have been made. Spanish aspirations towards Gibraltar are well known and of long-standing. Britain's commitment to honour the wishes of the people of Gibraltar in this matter is also totally clear.
§ 31. Mr. Brothertonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has any plans to meet the Foreign Minister of Spain to discuss Gibraltar.
§ Mr. PymI refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave the hon. Member for Norfolk, North-West (Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler) earlier today.
