HC Deb 09 March 1983 vol 38 cc415-6W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many certificates for properties that have an electric heating system with disproportionately high running costs have been issued in England, Greater Manchester and in Stockport; and how many applications are now being processed.

Mr. Newton

A total of 64 certificates have been issued for electric heating systems with disproportionately high running costs on estates in England. These include 12 certificates for systems in the Greater Manchester area, two of these being for Stockport. Each certificate may cover one estate or a group of estates. Eight further systems in England are in the final stages of consideration, including two in the Greater Manchester area. A number of other cases will be given initial consideration in local offices.
