asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will bring forward new proposals to control the international traffic in armaments.

The problem of conventional arms is already under discussion by a group of experts appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations. We have suggested that the group should recommend, as a first step, that all states report the value of their military production and of their imports and exports of arms.
