§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is satisfied with the progress that has been made in relation to integration of those with special educational needs into ordinary schools and colleges.
§ Dr. Boyson[pursuant to his reply, 22 February 1983, c. 420]: In January 1982, 15,474 handicapped children were registered as pupils in ordinary classes in ordinary 84W schools and a further 14,502 were registered as pupils in designated special classes or units in ordinary schools. The comparable figures for 1981 were 10,369 and 16,456, respectively.
