asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he received a report from the water research centre concerning asbestos in the public water supply; and if he will publish the report.

The Department received in December 1982 the report it had commissioned from the Water Research Centre on research into asbestos in water supplies.

Following normal practice, a version suitable for general publication is now being prepared.
