§ Mr. Craigenasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of the geographical disparities in hospital admission rates in the first year of life brought to light in statistics produced by the Greater Glasgow health board area, he will ask the health boards in Scotland to inquire into the reasons for such disparities.
§ Mr. John MacKayNo. It is normally for health boards to determine what action, if any, may be required in the light of information available about the rates of hospital admissions for any particular category of patient. I understand that the Greater Glasgow health board is currently studying the implications of the statistical paper to which the hon. Member refers.
