§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has received the report of the Committee on Safety of Medicines working party on adverse reactions.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe working party has divided its work into two stages. The first stage has been concerned with a review of the present arrangements for monitoring adverse reactions to drugs. The second will be concerned primarily with additional methods of collecting such information. I have just received the report of the first stage from the Committee on Safety of Medicines, which has endorsed the working party's recommendations. A copy has been placed in the Library. I am grateful to the committee for its work in this most important area. I shall study the report very carefully and I hope to receive comments from professional and other bodies on the recommendations.
