§ Mr. Butcher[pursuant to his reply, 26 July 1983]: Estimates made by the Bicycle Association of Great Britain place the number of cycles sold in the United Kingom last year at 1.7 to 1.8 million, of which around 1.1 million were of United Kingdom origin. There are no estimates of the number of cycles sold which were assembled from imported kits, but the amounts involved are not thought to be large.
