§ Mr. Steenasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will provide further advice and assistance to Devon county council in respect of the ultrasonic traffic lights at Aveton Gifford in view of the fact that they do not work.
§ Mrs. ChalkerMy Department will continue to give technical advice and assistance to Devon county council until the new traffic control system in Aveton Gifford is operating satisfactorily. Such an assurance was given to the county engineer, in writing, by my officials on 7 July 1983.
