HC Deb 27 January 1983 vol 35 cc526-7W
Mr. McQuarrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many appeals are outstanding in the Court of Session against decisions taken after a public inquiry has been held; and when these cases will be brought to finalisation.

Mr. Allan Stewart

I understand that there are at present 16 appeals outstanding against decisions by my right hon. Friend after public inquiries, most of which are planning inquiries. The time taken to dispose of case of this nature varies considerably and no reliable estimate can be made of when the appeals are likely to have been dealt with by the Court of Session.
