§ Dr. VaughanThe EC directive on the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances was implemented by the Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Substances Regulations 1978—SI1978 No. 209. Three subsequent amendments to the directive have been implemented by the Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Substances (Amendment) Regulations 1981—SI1981 No. 792—and 1983—SI1983 No. 17. These regulations apply to dangerous substances supplied for any purpose, including household use. A further amendment to the directive, 79/831/EEC, cannot be implemented until agreement has been reached in Brussels on some technical annexes.
