Mr. Strawasked the Prime Minister what has been the change in national income, as measured by the average estimate for gross domestic product at factor cost, since May 1979 to the latest available published date; and what, by the same measure, was the corresponding change in national income between February 1974 and May 1979.
§ The Prime MinisterBetween the first half of 1979 and the third quarter of 1982 the average estimate of gross domestic product at factor cost fell by 4 per cent. Between the first half of 1974 and the first half of 1979 it had increased by 9½ per cent.
