§ Mr. Woolmerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate has been made of the size and timing of the effect upon the flow of revenue to the Exchequer by the removal of pay-as-you-earn end-of-year work from the local collector of taxes as proposed by the report on the review of the collection service.
§ Mr. RidleyThe Inland Revenue is satisfied that the removal of the pay-as-you-earn end-of-year work from the local collector of taxes will not affect the flow of revenue to the Exchequer.
§ Mr. Woolmerasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what advice has been sought from, and what consultations have taken place with, interested bodies and individuals as to the effect of closing the 143 tax collection offices, as currently proposed in the report of the review of the collection service.
