HC Deb 10 February 1983 vol 36 c456W
Mr. Proctor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he expects to receive the Industrial Development Board's economic plan for Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Adam Butler

The Industrial Development Board is specifically concerned with encouraging industrial development in Northern Ireland, and as such is not responsible for overall economic planning in the Province. However, under the terms of its guidelines, the board is required to prepare, and to submit to Ministers for approval, a strategy document outlining its broad approach across the whole spectrum of its activities. A strategy for 1983–84 and beyond is being finalised, and I expect to receive it shortly.
