§ Mr. Murphyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made in transferring the Commission for the New Towns commons parts to the respective local authorities.
§ Sir George YoungA partial transfer took place at Stevenage in 1981. The principles of the scheme for Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield have recently been agreed. A revised scheme for Bracknell has just been submitted for consideration by my Department. In other towns, discussions have been taking place between the commission and the district council concerned.
