§ Mr. Murphyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he is giving to the proscribing of Provisional Sinn Fein in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HurdSection 1 of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1976 which provides for proscription extends only to Great Britain. There are separate powers in Northern Ireland. The Government are considering this matter but have not yet reached conclusions on it.
