HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 c126W
Mr. Rowe

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether funds disbursed by Her Majesty's Government to voluntary organisations for their work in the United Kingdom may also be used for work which benefits United Kingdom citizens living abroad and paying United Kingdom taxes.

Mr. Waddington

Grants may only be used for the purposes for which they are given, which will vary according to the circumstances in each case. I am aware that funds are given to some organisations whose work benefits, for example, service men abroad and their dependents. If my hon. Friend has a particular situation in mind, perhaps he will write to me.
