HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 c199W
Mr. Watson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the reduction in the working population of the United Kindom if the recommendations of the Social Services Select Committee report(H.C. 26 1981–82) on the age of retirement was accepted.

Dr. Boyson

It is estimated that the net effect on the working population, after taking account of changes already introduced this year, would be likely to be a reduction in the working population of up to 100,000.
