§ 45. Mr. Hal Millerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether the fall in schools rolls is still proceeding faster than the fall in school funding.
§ Mr. DunnOn the basis of provisional information on the outturn of expenditure for 1982–83 and local education authorities' budget estimates for 1983–84, local education authority recurrent expenditure on primary and secondary schools is expected to remain roughly constant in real terms between 1982–83 and 1983–84 while pupil numbers are projected to fall by about 2.5 per cent. over the same period. Expenditure per pupil is thus expected to continue to increase.
