§ Mr. DunnIn exercising his responsibilities under sections 12 and 13 of the Education Act 1980, my right hon. Friend receives numerous and regular representations about individual schools or groups of schools which are proposed for closure. Such proposals are decided after careful consideration of all the factors involved including the views of local people, and in particular the educational interests of the children concerned.
