HC Deb 20 December 1983 vol 51 cc141-2W
Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many people under the age of 20 years are currently being treated for leukemia in Scotland; how many are from each health board area; and what clusters are identifiable from any ward, town, constituency or district council area.

Mr. John MacKay

A study is currently being undertaken of the existence of clustering of cases of leukaemia among children in Scotland. The results of this study will be published in due course. It is not possible to state how many people under the age of 20 are currently being treated for leukaemia in Scotland.

Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland which hospitals in Scotland are currently treating children for leukaemia; what is the number of children in each hospital; and how this number compares with the same time in each of the last 10 years.
