§ Mr. BrittanMy Department currently has about 4,050 different types of forms which are issued to the public or to businesses; the corresponding figure for 1979 is not available. The total number of forms issued is not recorded.
In the first year following the publication of "Administrative Forms in Government"—Cmnd. 8504— in February 1982, 178 forms were reviewed of which 27 were abolished. The review of forms used by the Home Office is continuing. Figures relating to progress from February 1983 should be available in May next year.
