HL Deb 19 December 1983 vol 446 c583WA
Lord Chelwood

asked Her Majesty's Government:

On how many occasions grants under the Agriculture and Horticulture Grant Scheme 1980 have not been paid or have been reduced on the ground that the work done was either (a) scientifically or (b) scenically damaging; and what are the total sums involved.

Lord Belstead

I regret that we do not keep records of the reasons why grant claimed may be reduced or rejected. A claim may be reduced or rejected for more than one reason and it may subsequently be paid if the claimant is able at a later stage to satisfy all the requirements of the scheme.
