HC Deb 19 December 1983 vol 51 cc75-6W
Sir Hector Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the latest position about the bypasses at Collin and Annan on the A75.

Mr. Younger

The tender documents for the Collin bypass have been issued and the contract will probably be awarded in February 1984.

Since the publication and the public exhibition of revised proposals for the Annan bypass, 30 of the 53 objections have been withdrawn. Negotiations are being actively pursued with the remaining objectors — five landowners and tenants directly affected by the acquisition of land, and others, mostly householders, concerned about environmental effects.
