§ Mr. WaldegraveIt is already our current practice to encourage the recycling of useful materials from waste where it is economic and practicable to do so given markets for materials at any particular time. We continue to provide financial and technical assistance for the development of mechanical separation plants which extract valuable materials and produce a waste derived fuel. We also encourage schemes for the provision of central collection points where people can deposit bottles, cans and other suitable items.
