Sir John Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Energy what discussions he has had with the Association of United Kingdom Oil Independents and the Motor Agents Associations about the impact of the Petroleum Stocks Amendment Order 1983 in connection with the EEC oil stocking obligation on outlets for the retailing of oil and petrol particularly in villages, small towns and rural areas.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithI have had discussions with the Association of United Kingdom Oil Independents, but not the Motor Agents Association, on the general implications of this order and I have received representations from a number of sources about its impact on rural areas.
