asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what further evidence he has received to support his estimate in the autumn statement of a 5 per cent. growth in imports of goods and services in 1984.

[pursuant to his reply, 12 December 1983, c. 343]: It is much too early to expect any new information to throw significant light on the forecasts for 1984 contained in the autumn statement.
