HC Deb 13 December 1983 vol 50 c412W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list all those projects currently in receipt of European social fund money (a) in Wandsworth and (b) elsewhere in London.

Mr. Gummer

The bulk of allocations from the European social fund is in respect of national employment and training schemes and cannot be broken down on a regional basis. In 1982, for example, the Manpower Services Commission was allocated £167,958,514 for all its eligible training programmes, which was 65.3 per cent. of the total allocation for the United Kingdom.

A list of schemes in Greater London sponsored by local authorities and voluntary and private organisations was given in answer to the hon. Member for Peckham (Ms. Harman) on 23 November. — [Vol. 49, c. 135–36.] People from Wandsworth may have benefited from these schemes, although none is running in Wandsworth itself.
