§ Mr. LawsonI am grateful to the hon. Member for raising the matter, and regret that an error was made in rebasing the 1974–1977 volume figures for chart 1.4 of the autumn statement, which shows the share of United Kingdom exports in world trade in manufacturing. The volume share of United Kingdom exports in world trade was in fact some 1½ percentage points higher for those years than was shown in chart 1.4. Figures for value shares, and for volume shares in other years, are not affected. A corrected version of the chart, with an explanatory footnote, will appear in the supplement to the December issue of theEconomic Progress Report.
