§ Mr. Colvinasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether the Under-Secretary of State for Industry learnt of any schemes for small businesses during his recent visit to the United States of America which might be applicable to the United Kingdom; and, if so, if he will be making arrangements for their introduction.
§ Mr. MacGregorI visited the United States to enable me to have discussions with experts on the latest developments there in public sector purchasing, finance and advisory services for small firms, venture capital and links between Government, industry and education, especially in the higher education and technology fields. I am now assessing the information and ideas which resulted from the visit.
