§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what is the price currently being charged for school meals in each local education authority, together with the comparable figure for 1981;
(2) if he will list in theOfficial Reportthose local education authorities which, in the current school term, provide free school meals(a)only for children from families in receipt of family income supplement or supplementary benefit,(b)only for children who qualify under the former in come eligibility limits and(c)only for children who fall in between these two tests, indicating in which cases and in what way any of these categories has been changed since September 1981.
Dr. BosonIndividual authorities' charges and free meals policies in September 1981 are set out in the analysis of the 1981 school meals census placed in the Library earlier this year. Information on the current position will be available in early 1983 when the results of the 1982 census have been analysed.
