HC Deb 29 November 1982 vol 33 c42W
Mr. Timothy Smith

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what important improvements have been made by his Department since May 1979 in the field of women's affairs.

Mr. Raison

I refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister to a question by the hon. Member for Stockport, North (Mr. Bennett) on 23 November—[Vol. 32, c. 403.]

The Department's principal contribution in this field derives from our continued support for the Equal Opportunities Commission and for its objectives of eliminating discrimination and promoting equality of opportunity between the sexes.
