§ Mr. Wardellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) whether Her Majesty's Government are making available computer materials for staff engaged in the initial training of secondary and primary school teachers;
(2) if, in view of Her Majesty's Government's policy on the introduction of computers into secondary schools and the proposed grant for computers in primary schools, he will make provision for the updating of the knowledge of the staff engaged in the initial training of secondary and primary school teachers.
§ Mr. WaldegraveThe Government recognise the importance of ensuring that staff in teacher training institutions are familiar with microcomputers and their application in schools and has this matter under consideration.
