HC Deb 24 November 1982 vol 32 cc515-6W
41. Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contacts have taken place between Her Majesty's Government and the United States Government following the acquittal of those involved in the Noraid trial in the United States of America.

Mr. Hurd

We are in regular contact with the United States authorities about all aspects of the supply of weapons to the IRA. When my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland had discussions with the State Department last week he was assured that the United States authorities would continue to prosecute vigorously those individuals engaged in illegal arms trafficking to Northern Ireland.
