§ Mr. AlisonThe expenditure on the health and safety at work programme, adjusted for general inflation as measured by the GDP deflator at market prices, was £71 million in 1978–79, £73 million in 1979–80, and £77 million in 1980–81; the provisional outturn for 1981–82 is £73 million, and on the same basis the estimates for 1982–83 provide for £75 million. The cash estimates for 1983–84 will be published in the spring of 1983.
