§ Mr. Maclennanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consultations he has had with the fishing industry about the distribution of the £15 million of financial aid to the industry; and how he proposes to ensure that all sectors of the fleet are equitably treated.
§ Mr. John MacKayIn reaching a conclusion on this matter my right hon. Friends will take into account the views expressed by the Scottish Fishermen's Federation and other organisations connected with the industry.
Details of the new scheme, including the scale of payments, will be announced as soon as possible.
