§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what was the cost to public funds of the banquet at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry, West Lothian, on Saturday 15 May, attended by the Prime Minister.
§ Mr. HurdThe banquet at Hopetoun House on Saturday 15 May was organised by the Franco-British Council at an approximate cost of £12,500. This sum will be shared by the British and French sections of the council which are financed by their separate Governments. The cost to British public funds will be about £6,250 from the grant to the British section of the council.
