§ Mr. William SheltonMy right hon. Friend has received the report of the joint working party of the Advisory Board for the Research Councils and the University Grants Committee on the support of university scientific research, which was chaired by Sir Alec Merrison. The report will be presented to Parliament and published, probably early in June. The report makes a number of detailed recommendations addressed primarily to universities and my right hon. Friend hopes that these will be carefully studied.
