§ The Lord Chancellor (The Lord Hailsham of Saint Marylebone)The Public Trustee operates at no net cost to the Exchequer. A transfer of all his functions to the private sector would depend on satisfactory arrangements for the acceptance of the large number of inherently unprofitable small trusts as well as the more remunerative work. If my noble friend has any proposals to make to overcome the difficulty the Government would be willing to consider them.
