§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Minister for Trade whether, in the light of his answers to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe of 21 June, Official Report, c. 3, and 27 May, Official Report, c. 360, concerning the decision not to refer to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission the bid for Allied Supplies Ltd. his right hon. and noble Friend the Secretary of State will make it his policy to announce such decisions, SO far as is possible, to Parliament before they are announced elsewhere.
§ Dr. Vaughan[pursuant to his reply, 28 June 1982, c. 211.]: No. It is policy to announce such decisions at the opening of business on the Stock Exchange. Present arrangements ensure that as many interested parties as possible are informed at the same time. Nevertheless, I regret that my reply of 27 May failed to make it clear that an announcement of my right hon. and noble Friend's decision not to refer the bid for Allied Supplies Ltd. to the Commission had been made on that day.
