HC Deb 08 June 1982 vol 25 c14W
Mr. Thomas Cox

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people living on the Falkland Islands are entitled to come to live in the United Kingdom under the present rules of the British Nationality Act.

Mr. Raison

Approximately 1,400 of the inhabitants of the Falkland Islands are exempt from immigration control under the Immigration Act 1971 or are entitled to admission for settlement under the immigration rules. As has been made clear on a number of occasions, however, no Falkland Islander will in present circumstances experience difficulty over entry to this country.
