HC Deb 08 June 1982 vol 25 c42W
Sir Anthony Meyer

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many British firms and firms operating in the United Kingdom would be affected by the proposals on information and consultation contained in the current draft of the European Community draft directive on informing and consulting employees in complex undertakings.

Mr. Waddington

It is not possible to provide an estimate. Within the scope of the present proposals are all undertakings with subsidiary undertakings employing 100 or more within the Community or with establishments which are separate from the "decision-making centre" and at which are employed 100 or more employees. The "decision-making centre" is defined as the place where management of the particular undertaking actually performs its functions.
