HC Deb 30 July 1982 vol 28 c755W
Mr. Greenway

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what additional measures he is taking to improve the traffic flow during road works on the A40 between the Target roundabout, Northolt and Hoover Ltd., Perivale; and what measures he is raking to alleviate the noise to flat dwellers and householders in or near this area.

Mrs. Chalker

Subsequent to the answer given to my hon. Friend on 25 June—[Vol. 26, c.181]—"yellow box" markings have been put down at Medway Parade to keep that junction clear. I have instructed that during peak periods at least two lanes in both directions must be open for traffic through the whole of these works.

Properties which are affected by noise from these improvements are still being identified and some offers of noise insulation have already been made. Installation in eligible properties has already started.
