§ Mr. Heddleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report a note of the matters discussed in respect of the Duthie report by his Department's officials and representatives of the British Orthopaedic Association on Monday 26 July.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe purpose of the meeting was to discuss the association's proposals for a "self assessment form" intended to assist individual orthopaedic surgeons in measuring the performance of their own units. I understand that the association is now revising the form670W in the light of the discussion. I have met the association myself and I have welcomed its constructive response to the proposals of the Duthie working party. I have agreed that the Department will give any help it can with this work.
