Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the number of serious offences recorded by the Norfolk police by offence group for the years 1979, 1980 and 1981 and the first two quarters of 1982.

Information for Norfolk police force area is published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales"—in supplementary tables 1980 Volume 3—table S3.1; for earlier years in the Command Papers—table 32 in the volume for 1979—Cmnd. 8098. Corresponding information for 1981—to be published in the volume for 1981—and for the first quarter 1982 is given in the attached table; information for the second quarter 1982 is not yet available.

Information for the first quarter of 1982 was published in Home Office statistical bulletin, Issue No. 12/82, a copy of which is in the Library of the House. Corresponding information for the second quarter of 1982 will be published in a Home Office statistical bulletin in September 1982.
