§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe method recommended by the resource allocation working party is used each year in determining the allocations to regional health authorities. It has the aim of reducing over time the geographical disparities in the level of funding of the hospital and community health services. As a result the Trent region, which on the criteria recommended by RAWP, is assessed as relatively deprived has had one of the highest rates of revenue growth in recent years.
