asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many people are unemployed; and what is the total number of people covered by special employment and training measures at the latest available date.

At 10 June a total of 2,945,200 people were registered as unemployed in Great Britain. At the end of May 486,000 people were being supported under the Government's employment and training measures.
