§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for Defence what research projects he has commissioned from each university in the United Kingdom; and, in each case, on what topic and at what cost.
§ Mr. PattieThere are approximately 500 items of research being carried out by universities and polytechnics in the United Kingdom on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. The annual cost to the defence budget is about £5 million at today's prices. It would involve disproportionate effort to list each research item and its individual cost, but if the hon. Gentleman has any specific area of interest and will let me know of it I will see what can be done to provide him with the information he requires.
